Daughter of the poet Lord Byron, Ada Lovelace was a child prodigy. Brilliant at maths, she read numbers like most people read words. In 1834 she came to the attention of scientist Charles Babbage, who had just built an amazing 'thinking machine'. Thus began a remarkable collaboration in the invention of computer. Ages 10+.
Lucy Lethbridge has written for a number of publications and is the author of Servants (2012) and Spit and Polish. She lives in London. Who was Ada Lovelace? won the 2004 Blue Peter Award for non-fiction.

I love these books
A stunning collection that my children love as much as I do ... Each has its own distinct style but all are highly charged dramas... * The Observer *
Great stories - entertaining but not patronising * Financial Times *
