Phoebe is confused and very sad because she doesn't know where Mummy's gone. She's been searching for her, but she can't find her, and no-one seems to want to tell her where she is. Granny Mo gently explains that Mummy has died and helps Phoebe to understand the grief and loss she is feeling. Then Granny Mo shows Phoebe how she can connect with Mummy just about anywhere, especially in mirrors, puddles and rainbows.
For the past twenty years Sue Brayne has been helping people to talk more honestly and openly about end of life and death and dying. She has an MA in the Rhetoric and Rituals of Death and a second MA in Creative Writing. She is a well published author on books and articles about death and dying and for many years she worked at a therapist, specialising in trauma, end of life issues, bereavement and grief. She also facilitates Death Cafes and is the host of Embracing Your Mortality Podcasts.
Sue was inspired to write Granny Mo, Is Teddy Going to Die? after her grandson, Jack, turned to her out of the blue while eating lunch and asked, 'I going to die one day?' The subsequent conversation she had with Jack made her realise how important it was to create a resource to help grown-ups and children to talk together about difficult yet very important life issues
