Mari Hannah is a multi-award-winning author, whose authentic voice is no happy accident. A former probation officer, she lives in rural Northumberland with her partner, an ex-murder detective. Mari has created a character in Kate Daniels who I would to have as a boss or a friend, a fair and strong woman we can all look up to. In this novel, her humanity and empathy shines through and I found it a compelling, shocking read full of unexpected turns. Most enjoyable!
