This is an interesting examination of a controversial figure. Svendsen's prose is familiar, easy to understand, and occasionally hilarious. Moving between solid scholarship and personal experience with ease, this book provides readers with a modern sense of both Loki and Sigyn. Patricia Lafayllve, author of A Practical Heathen's Guide to Asatru. Wait, was I not just sitting in a drinking hall listening to an excited Lokean drinking Jagermeister and telling stories while standing on a table? It certainly feels that way after reading Loki and Sigyn! I laughed, I cried, I found insightful commentary and a good mix of scholarship and gnosis. I also found the main stories - yes, they're very important (and funny)! But there were also lessons about bad decisions, accountability, love, devotion, and compassion as well. Oh, and let's not forget all the lessons on how to honor that fiery boi and his wife (there were plenty of those - don't forget the candy!). 10 out of 10 would recommend (and I don't even usually bother with the guy).
