This is a beautiful title - we love it so much that we've featured one of the projects on page 50! The concept behind the book is that quilting is an activity to be done with friends rather than alone. The idea was born out of the groups of friends the author has made online in blogs via online quilting bees, and the quilts in the book are by a selection of those people who started The Mod Stitches Bee with her. The idea is to make blocks and swap them. Tips for starting and running such a bee, including choosing blocks, are covered extensively in the first part of the book. The section that follows begins with beginner blocks that run Jan-April, on to confident beginner blocks for May-Aug followed by intermediate blocks for Sept-Dec, and our featured project is at the end of this section. The book then details finishing techniques and gives quilter biographies. I think this is a fabulous and sociable way to learn new quilting skills and swapping blocks with friends will really spur you on to complete them. Who'd love to say 'No more UFOs?' I certainly would.
