Narayan Swamy has been a journalist for the last 25 years and is currently the Chief News Editor of the Indo-Asian News Service (IANS) in New Delhi. In 1994, he published Tigers of Lanka, a chronicle of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eslam (LTTE) in Sri Lanka. He then followed the book's success by writing Inside an Elusive Mind, the first biography of LTTE Chief Velupillai Prabhakaran. This was published in 2003. It was Narayan's love of Indian food and his innate curiosity that led him to undertake the challenge of writing a food guide. To him, it was the perfect opportunity to explore more of his home town of New Delhi and spend time indulging in one of his favourite pastimes.
