Dennis the Menace made his first appearance in the Beano in 1951 and has been wreaking weekly havoc in the pages of the comic ever since. He's aided and abetted by his faithful companion Gnasher and fun is usually at the expense of the hapless Walter, the very incarnation of cissiedom. Now, like many in their middle years, Denis has taken up golf - with hair-raising results. The thirty Rules illustrated in this book - from 1-4 'Exerting influence on the ball' to 34-2 'Referee's decisions' - are all perfectly genuine, as are the further dozen points of etiquette also covered. But for Dennis, of course, a rule is something made to be broken, evaded or misinterpreted while the entire concept of etiquette is utterly alien. Each of Dennis' ingenious and outrageous pieces of blatant gamesmanship is illustrated in full colour and even those who for whom golf is close to a religion will find it hard to keep a straight face when confronted with this hilarious collection of subversion and blasphemy.
