The resource is designed to be a clear, accessible and easy-to-use resource that can easily be used by professionals (teachers, teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and social workers) and parents with no prior experience of teaching mental wellbeing.
Victoria Honeybourne is a senior advisory teacher for speech, language and communication needs. She has previously worked as a specialist language unit teacher, a teacher of SEN and as a mainstream secondary school teacher. She is co-author of the Speech, Language and Communication Pocketbook (Teachers' Pocketbooks, 2014) and has published a number of articles on special educational needs.

This is a resource which promotes emotional wellbeing in a very simple way. I like the illustration of Flying high and think that it is an easy and exciting concept for young people to link to their own experience of emotions. I could see it being used in a school setting predominantly - either for small group work or individually with young people. This resource offers the chance for young people to personalise and come up with their own ideas and interpretation.
